Created to counter the heaviness of the world, these smiles intend to touch the happiness within, to trigger a smile, because when we’re smiled at, we smile back. The 80s punk rock scene made a strong, rebellious statement with it, and it’s been a champion of various fights for what’s right before and since. Hot pink is a color that says you can’t ignore us. The inclusion of cardboard speaks to that too, to this life that we live. How tough it can be. In-between constructing some smaller smiles for a collection of Soul Mates, I went back and brought out these two big ones. Saw suddenly that they wanted to be there. Loved it! So dove in to do it. Happened pretty fast since the heavy lifting had already been done. Last I left ‘em, all the way over, this was known as Happiness, Deconstructed. Always saw what was going on inside those two circles as the inner-workings within us. All the broken shards that needed fixing. For happiness to take hold and never get shaken. With that done, and these smiles in, felt the name change. It’s s now Happiness X2.🤍🤍
